The first ident I have decided to analyse is a BBC One Ident called; Neon (Saturday Nights). It was first aired on 13.10.2007. And was filmed at Blackpool Pleasure beach and the famous neon lights come to life and walk down to the big wheel to let off some steam. The BBC decided to create this ident to be shown on a Saturday night as that's when people start to relax and let off steam themselves, however they only ever show the advert up until the late news and then they go back to their other idents. The fact that it is upbeat has often caused it to come into conflict as it is shown around the time which Casualty is on and this has quite often got gritty content people felt that this Ident didn't fit in with the content being shown on TV at the time.
The way the Ident was created was very clever. They have used a live action image and placed 2D CGI (Computer generated image) over the top. By doing this they have created a fun and different Ident. Although they have used a few other colours there is always red somewhere in the background and when it gets to the 'Big wheel' the main colour which you see whilst the wheel is turning is red. They make sure that red is always visible as this is BBC1's colour identity, they then place the channels logo in the centre of the wheel in the classic white writing and the font which they always use.

The next ident is extremely different as it is for Cbeebies the childrens channel. The dominant colour's used are yellow and purple which are used for the logo and then throughout the ident the background changes from blue to pink to keep girls and boys interested. The channels Ethos is bright and bubbly as this is a children's channel and this is how they keep children entertained and interested. The target audience for Cbeebies is a younger group of children from the ages of 1 to 7 so from toddlers at nursery to just starting school. Throughout the video there are 2 yellow blobs jumping around and bumping into eachother. This would of been done by CGI (Computer Generated Image) and placed onto an animated background. The Ident last for 16 seconds and would be shown before or after a show.
